Francisco Moura Veiga
Francisco Moura Veiga is the principal of the architectural research and design office "A Forschung", the founder of "Publishing in Architecture" and of "CARTHA Magazine". He is the creator of the "When Socrates was an Architect" and the "DISCORD" podcasts, two shows focusing on architectural pedagogy and critique.
Before focusing on his academic career, between 2008 and 2018, he worked as an architect in Basel. During this period he worked for Christ und Gantenbein, Trinkler Stula Partner, and Burckhard Partner.
Since 2019, he is an active member of Visarte Schweiz.
Since 2018, he has been a teaching and research assistant at the VOLUPTAS Chair at the ETH Zürich. Within the scope of the chair, he is responsible for publications, exhibitions and for the research into the articulation of Games, Play and Architecture. He organised the studio collaboration between VOLUPTAS and the ZhdK Game Design department, the "World at Play" summer school, started the "Territories of Play" seminar and the "Territories of Play" Magazine of which he is the editor-in-chief. He has as well been a tutor and a lecturer at other international institutions and has been invited to co-supervise a number of master thesis in architecture and game design.
He currently is a Doctoral Student at the DARCH ETH Zurich, selected member of the Joint Doctoral Program in The Learning Sciences ETHZ EPFL, with a project on the application of tested, playful pedagogical methodologies onto critical architectural design teaching.
